The CHAT command is used to express your desire to talk with a system operator (sysop). You will be asked to enter a reason explaining why you wish to chat. If there is a sysop available and willing to answer your call, CHAT will produce a sound on the console monitor's speaker. If there is no sysop available, you will be given the opportunity to leave feedback instead. In either case, your reason for wanting to chat will be logged to disk. It is therefor unnecessary (and somewhat annoying) for you to repeatedly use the CHAT command--once is usually enough.
